ccording to a study, the most common issues among individuals not engaging in any sort of physical activity was 'not enough time', 'no one to exercise with', 'lack of facilities', "expensive gym memberships", "trainer availability" "transportation", "no motivation".

Hundreds of millions of people across the globe would love to have a fit and healthy body, but more often than not they are unable to allocate the time and/or afford the things they need, to fulfill their fitness goals.

There needed to be a solution that offered the best fitness experience which could be accessed anytime and from anywhere.

This is exactly what Oga set out to solve.

Oga provides world-class interactive fitness experience to people across the world at their convenience, to help them lead a fitter and healthier life. Our technology tracks and compares 19 joints of the human body in real-time by using any device's camera and generates real-time feedback for a fully interactive and immersive fitness experience.

Through Oga, users can workout live with trainers anytime, anywhere, with its system acting as the perfect personal trainer giving them real-time feedback on their movements, postures, and repetitions.

Oga gives you fitness on your terms. What makes Oga unique, is through its cutting edge technology, it brings in all the elements of an in-studio experience; interactivity (live interaction with the trainer), motivation (global challenges), gamification (scores, leader boards, badges) and personalized attention to users anytime, anywhere.

The global digital fitness market is expected to reach an estimated $27.4 billion by 2022 and is estimated to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 33 percent from 2017 to 2022.

What made you start this journey and how is it going so far?

As a working professional with a hectic work life, I had a difficult time staying fit. Gyms and fitness studios did not work for me due to my irregular work timings. I tried online workouts but the experience was not at all engaging. Having worked with cutting edge technology since the past few years, I knew a better solution could exist but I was surprised to find out that nothing did. That search led me to create Oga.

The past three years have been going great. We have managed to form an amazing team and partnered with industry leaders who are leaders in the global fitness and entertainment industry. We are very excited about launching our product in the next 6 months and bringing forth fully interactive content from the best trainers the world has to offer directly into homes.

Sinces its inception Oga has raised 700k in total from its investors, Sarva, David Giampaolo,IPV, and family & friends.

Can you give one top customer success story?

Our designers are very dynamic, and part of their user research and experience process involves live testing with strangers. They have at-times, picked up random people from the street (voluntarily, of course) to test the product. One such person was a fitness enthusiast who regularly worked out at physical studios. He firmly believed that the best fitness session is only experienced at a studio or a gym. After trying our product for the first time, he was so impressed that he signed up with us as a core tester and has been giving invaluable feedback for makingour vision a reality. Getting firm believers motivates the team greatly and re-affirms our vision of‘Revolutionizing the fitness industry one step at a time’.

As a startup, what are the top 2 challenges you face now?

I think one of the major challenges any entrepreneur faces is having access to experts in the field who can help in decoding business strategies and marketing tactics. We are fortunate to have reliable partners we can learn from. Sarvesh Shashi of Sarva and David Giampaolo, who are on our board, are of immense help.

Another challenge for any start-up is hiring. Getting the right team in place is crucial since acompany’s outcome is primarily dependent on the team. Attracting the right talent is a challenge when you and your brand are not yet established in the industry. However, we have been fortunate enough to attract some extremely talented individuals who share our vision and drive.

How do you measure success?

Success is all about waking up in the morning and feeling good about the things that you are set out to do and at the end of the day feeling happy about the things you have accomplished.

Congratulations and Good Luck to Oga. Thanks for enabling us to stay fit.

Thanks to Ashish Rawat, Founder, Oga Fitness.
